We are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with Opitz Packaging Systems.
Together, we aim to bring packaging technology and advanced robotics closer together. By combining our complementary capabilities, we will develop and implement integrated automation solutions for selected applications and customer projects.
Our initial focus will be on palletizing and end-of-line automation. In the longer term, we also plan to expand the partnership into item-picking applications. Potential applications include e-commerce, manufacturing and logistics environments, as well as the food, fashion and pharmaceutical sectors.
Combining Embodied AI, Robotics and Packaging Expertise
Based in Northeim, Germany, Opitz Packaging Systems develops and manufactures custom solutions that make packaging and shipping processes faster, more efficient and more cost-effective. As a subsidiary of global packaging specialist Storopack Opitz has extensive experience in automating packaging processes and integrating custom-built equipment into existing systems and complex IT environments.
Through this partnership, Opitz will be able to integrate our embodied AI solutions into its packaging machines and systems, providing customers with new comprehensive solutions from a single source.
At the same time we will benefit from their profound process expertise and more than 30 years of experience in packaging automation and custom machine engineering, as well as their strong presence across the DACH region.
For our customers, this means access to tailored, state-of-the-art automation solutions in which packaging technology and robotics are closely coordinated.
“Opitz has long been one of the most established and respected companies in the packaging industry across the DACH region. A strategic partnership with a company of this caliber offers tremendous potential for us and our future customers,” says Felix Schmidt, Co-CEO of Smart Robotics.
Outlook: Turning the Partnership into Customer Solutions
As a next step, our teams will jointly identify specific applications and demo use cases and develop corresponding solution concepts. Our goal is to make the combination of our technologies tangible and show customers how integrated packaging and robotics solutions can create measurable value in real-world operations.
We look forward to presenting further details about our partnership at Logistica Next in Utrecht in early November.
